C4D: Armoured Ball Scene

The next tutorial I used to improve my knowledge of Cinema 4D was CREATING AN ARMOURED BALL scene. It wasn't too difficult to follow the steps as I learned most of them from the previous tutorial (except for the material stuff). So I just thought to give it a try...

Hello, There!

I love the outcome! Thoughts?

C4D: Creating A Pokéball Scene

In the past few weeks I came across some very good tutorials about creating objects with Cinema 4D (an engine to create 3D models). I'm really a fan of 3D modelling, so I thought I'd give it a try and extent my knowledge by using some of the advices and by creating the objects that were given. The first tutorial was about CREATING A POKÉBALL SCENE.

Things that were completely off my radar definitely won me over during the entire process (like extrude inner, bevel and stuff) and helped me to understand the working progess. Things I already knew helped me to understand the connection between the never before used techniques and I started to really love this software. Not that I wasn't in love with it in the beginning, but as my knowledge was very rookie-ish, I often came to the point where I really didn't know how to move on correctly. Well, things have changed now.

If you're interested just go on Youtube and look for IDigitalUniverse, he has some amazing advices that are really easy to learn and he explains everything multiple times.

For now, I'd like to present several works that I created before and after using this very helpful tutorial.

1. First attempt before using the tutorial: boring scene & lightning

2. First attempt using the advices of the tutorial:
RGB Pokeballs - better shapes, interesting scene & lightning

3. Lightning of the created scene

4. Adding more realistic lights and a realistic angle to the modified shapes

5. Creating an entirely new, futuristic ball with more shapes
and different colours
6. Different angle of the new object

7. View from behind & up front

8. Final outcome: Placing the still cornered ball into an illuminated scene

Added some hypernurbs to make it look more realistic

What I want to do better next time:  Adding more polygons to the object to make it even more round, work on render settings to improve the look and make it look less pixelated .
What I'm satisfied with for the moment: lightning scene, reflections, rust and colours

Blog Intro Sequence

Well, as I wanted to bring something fresh and new to this blog, I created an opening sequence to upcoming videos posted on Design Monsta with Cinema 4D and After Effects. It is certainly an introductory sequence that plays at the begenning of every clip that I'll be uploading to this blog, so it's very representative. I hope you guys enjoy!

P.S.: Be sure to enable your sound before viewing!

I know, it's not perfect, but as this is my first opening ever made with C4D and After Effects, I think that it's pretty cool. There's always room for improvement and I certainly won't be dying satisfied knowing that there's still more to know about creating a good title sequence. So believe me - I want to improve and I'm ready for it!

A Change For The Better!

Welcome!

As you might realize, "Relevant Tune Monster" evolved into "Design Monsta" completely. There will be no further postings on the old blog, as the theme has changed completely. You might ask yourself: Why the change?

After a couple of days overthinking the concept of the previous blog, I came to the conclusion that a blog about my own works would be great, as other (soon-to-be) designers and people around the globe can evaluate, discuss, criticize and analyze my own designed material (plus recently found designed works that I find important to mention) on this blog. The last topic was too vague and I simply couldn't stick to the themes I was supposed to talk about. I certainly think that this is a theme most of us can relate to the most, as great design is always a pleasure to talk about. [You eat with your eyes (first)!]

So it's simply a change for the better!

Note: EVERYONE can post a comment on every topic. I just enabled the anonymous comment mode, so you're not committed to sign in with any other account.

Greetings,

Jan
